Why monthly giving matters: A story from Judy
By Tricia Wright

As we wrap up our campaign encouraging monthly gifts to Onward, we want to leave you with one story that shows why this work matters — and how your support makes a difference.
Judy Kammer became a monthly donor because Onward’s mission hits close to home. She shared:
Judy Kammer, monthly donor, Onward committee member and former board member
"At age 14, after a tumultuous divorce, my mother and I were nearly homeless. My mother was deaf and unable to work. There was no money coming in, and I was working part-time while going to school. With the help of a county social worker, we rented a one-bedroom apartment. We could have been homeless!"
Judy gives monthly to Onward because she wants today’s young adults to have the same chance she did: the chance for stability, support, and a future full of possibility.
"My hope is that young adults in crisis have an even chance for success and happiness as I did. Onward is one of the many solutions to a much larger problem — and without our help, it will only get worse."
Monthly giving is one of the best ways you can help. It provides steady, reliable funding that helps young adults at Onward House build skills, pursue education, find employment, and move forward.
If you’ve been thinking about becoming a monthly donor — now is a great time. You can set up your gift in just a few minutes, and know that month after month, you’re standing with young people who need a safe place to land and the support to move ahead.
